Young Native Women's Leadership Academy

Each year since 2010, our Youth Academy prepares the next generation of young Native leaders by combining cultural values with modern tools and services. Spread across three days of challenging and inspiring leadership training, participants’ understandings of money, popular media, personal development, goal setting, leadership, tribal sovereignty, Indian law, networking, and self-expression are strengthened. Through debate and discussion with their peers under the guidance and instruction of honored elders and national experts in their fields, young women leave transformed, empowered, and prepared to make a positive difference in their communities.

Native Action Network is now accepting applications for our 11th annual Young Native Women’s Leadership Academy, which will take place virtually June 24-26, 2021, with a follow up convening later this summer. Native women anywhere in the US, ages 18-24, are invited to apply, including those who identify as two-spirit, trans, and genderqueer. This year, in honor of NAN’s 20th anniversary, we are pleased to offer the 20 young women selected to participate a $500 stipend for their successful completion of the program. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 17, 11:59pm PST. Learn more at NativeActionNetwork.org/YouthAcademy.
