“Native Students Matter” Seattle School Board Candidate Forum

  • North Seattle College Auditorium 9600 College Way North Seattle, WA, 98103 United States (map)

Hear from the candidates running for Seattle School Board on issues impacting Native students and families!

Urban Native Education Alliance and Native Action Network invite you attend the “Native Votes Matter” Seattle Public Schools Board Candidate Forum taking place at the North Seattle College Auditorium (600 College Way N, Seattle, WA 98103) on Saturday October 4th from 12:00pm (noon) - 3:00pm.

We believe it is essential for the voices of Native community to be heard in all decision making spaces. Furthermore, we believe Native students deserve to have School Board Directors who are knowledgeable about the issues impacting Native education and passionate about being an advocate for Native students and families inside and outside the classroom.

This community event will provide an opportunity for Native students, parents, elders, community members, and allies to learn more about your platform while also fostering a dialogue on the priorities and concerns of the Native community across the Seattle Public School system.

The Native Votes Matter Candidate Forum will begin with a meet and greet and light lunch at 12:00pm (noon), followed by the candidate forum which will start promptly at 1:00pm and last until 2:30pm. The forum will be moderated by community leaders with pre-prepared questions followed by an opportunity to hear select submitted questions from the audience.

Please RSVP at UNEAchair@gmail.com or 206-941-3600.
